Religion is a form of politics that can be manipulated and used as a tool for death, wealth, “progress,” whatever. Using religion in this way is blatantly hypocritical. Religion is not necessary for all, but don’t blame religion for anything, blame man. Besides, many people do great work inspired by religion.

Many masses have been killed by religion, also though I can point to many regimes in the 20th Century alone that killed millions. These regimes shunned religion and its expression.
